Evangelist Hortense Millwood, Co-Founder and Chief Evangelist of the Apostolic Church of God 7th Day, Valley Stream.
Evangelist Hortense Millwood, preacher, Teacher, founder and mentor are titles that stacks her portfolio making her the shortest giant of the twenty first century. As a child she stood on boxes reciting poems for dignitaries in parliament and was slated to be an icon in the Back to Africa Movement. However, God’s plan would be for her to use her gift of speaking to win souls for Christ.
She migrated from Jamaica West Indies with her husband the late Bishop R. G. Millwood and their children and settled in Long Island, New York. Since there was no Church of God 7th day in the area, they began The Apostolic church of God 7th day in their basement, which later settled in Queens, NY. Today Evangelist Millwood is a tremendous woman of God who stands at the helm serving as the spiritual Shepard for church and her son Pastor John Millwood. She is in involved in practically every aspect of the ministry and serves as a board member. As a teacher, she expounds the word of God with clarity and focus immediately creating a change of heart. Characteristically, she is quite, but it is her strongest feature. She serves as a mentor to the women and young girls imparting wisdom day or night. Fundamentally, she is solid on maintaining her relationship with the lord and still prays and interceded before dawn.
Standing firm on the Word of God and the doctrines of the Apostolic church, Evangelist Hortense Millwood teaches and preaches with love and care. Always exuding love she touches and connects with each person one at a time.
Today, Evangelist Millwood is involved in many missions, including Africa and frequents other assemblies in various countries to encourage, mentor, teach and preach the word of God. Strength and Honor are her clothing.
